Exonerated: Arrest Made in Jonbenet Ramsey Case

08/16/2006: For ten years, John and Patsy Ramsey were dogged by talking heads in the death of 6-year-old Jonbenet Ramsey. Police, pundits, tabloids, and many Americans suspected that someone in the Ramsey family beat and strangled Jonbenet.

The Ramseys, in turn, submitted to many interviews by police and media, and maintained their innocence.

Today, society owes the Ramseys a major apology, as John Mark Karr–already being held in Thailand for apparent sex crimes–has been an arrested in the Jonbenet case.

Lin Wood, an attorney for the Ramseys, had this to say:

“John and Patsy lived their lives knowing they were innocent, trying to raise a son despite the furor around them…The story of this family is a story of courage, and story of an American injustice and tragedy that ultimately people will have to look back on and hopefully learn from.”

Sadly, Patsy Ramsey–who died of ovarian cancer on June 24–is not here to experience exoneration here on earth.

As for Karr, I’d love to save the good folks of Colorado some tax dollars. Bring the bastard to Kentucky and some of my friends can take good care of him.
