Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

As Amir has mentioned, we met on the blogosphere. As you can guess from that, this relationship is long-distance.

Neither one of us is a huge fan of the distance and we both see marriage as the cure for this ailment. 🙂

Anyhow, I’m blogging for therapy right now. The parting thing completely stinks. We like each other a whole bunch and it’s getting just downright painful.

I’d like to take time out to brag about what a great man Amir is . . .

Amir is great man. Wonderful even. And I get to keep him. Yay! 🙂

I’m done. Thank you. 🙂

  1. Bless your heart, and I don’t mean that southern. My fellow is in Charleston right now, settling into our new home, and I’m here in Maryland. I feel your pain.

  2. ;( , , ,

    i’m sorry.

how much longer do you have to keep this up?

this is the kind of thing that often causes couples to move up their wedding date 😉

  3. YAY!

december is such a beautiful month to have a wedding!

i think it was michael w smith that i heard talking about his engagement … and he and his intended kept moving up the wedding date till their dating/engagement period was only something like 3 months.

  4. My engagement/wedding planning time frame was only about two & 1/2 months (May to late July). It may not seem like it now, but the time will fly by much quicker than you think!

  5. Lol…I was married in December…

Other than the Christmassy red/green decorations, you never woulda known.

It was 80 degrees on my wedding day 2 days after Christmas. I started on my honeymoon tan early (tan? what tan?) while waiting to get into the church to get ready for the wedding.

If you two are so anxious, I wouldn’t be surprised if it moves up a few more times =p October is a beautiful month, too 😉

My youth minister when I was in HS was having issues when his fiance moved to Ocala. They moved their wedding date up 5 months from the original date. They couldn’t wait any longer =p

LOL…Nope…we’re set on December 5. That will allow sufficient time for planning and preparation, as well as getting families–scattered all over the country–a chance to make their preparations to be there.

Otherwise, we would have opted for more expedient options. Rumor has it that Gatlinburg, for example, is a really nice place to get hitched…

Time is flying, and I’m glad it will be Dec. 5. That gives plenty of time for prudent preparation. Her church folks–from the pastor on down–are doing a splendid job. Gotta do justice for them.

Lol. I have a friend whose marriage dream is elopement in Gatlinburg =p

  9. Ha! My fiance and I will be married during a regular Sunday morning service at my church. It’s been done once or twice before; the bride and groom (no attendants) process in with the altar party and the wedding takes place first, with the BCP as our blueprint, no embarrassingly personal vows for us. Then we just continue with the regular liturgy. The ladies in my parish have already wrested the parish-hall reception out of my hands, so OK, and thank you ladies! Little fuss, little muss…
