Charges Dropped against Abdul Rahman
03/27/2006: An Afghan court dismissed the charges against Abdul Rahman on Saturday, thus ending a test for Afghanistan’s justice process with respect to basic human liberties.
Rahman is hardly out of the woods, though: there are a number of Islammunist clerics who want him dead. As a result, he is effectively a marked man. If he wishes to risk his life–for the cause of the Gospel–and stay in Afghanistan, then he has my support and prayers (and money if I can find a means to send it to him).
If he wishes to find save haven, I’d suggest that he apply for political asylum in the U.S. Perhaps the cash-rich Southern Baptist Convention could sponsor him.
