Failure to Exercise Ettiquette

Can leave you minus your balls. (HT: Vox Day)

While I don’t believe that a man must always approach the parents before dating a gal, it would seem a matter of common sense to do so if you are 57 and the lady is only 17.

His life was saved but he remains a eunuch for life.

Huge (no pun intended) biblical/theological implications here.

“Some were made eunuchs by men…”

There are going to be eunuch jokes going on for the next few weeks, now, won’t there?

He’s not half the man he used to be…

    . . . . and they start . . . .

Dear readers, you won’t be hearing every single eunuch joke he can muster, but I will. One of the joys of marriage. :-)

OT: Federal judge in Virginia finds federal health care law unconstitutional.

I saw that story. Right now, this is good news, but it will be appealed to SCOTUS, where it is a tossup as to what the final disposition will be.

See, if they didn’t set up a sterile field and use proper technique; there are issues of infection. I doubt they administered a local anesthetic as well.

Partially OT: In this very past week I have witnessed the excision of a cyst from a scrotum; a bedside surgical procedure. I was the “circulating” nurse (that is, not the “scrub” or “sterile” nurse, who stays sterile to assist the doc, who as luck would have it was another male nurse).

We both had a degree of sympathetic pain for the patient.

Let us just say that I have witnessed many things in my life and thankfully have a strong stomach.

He can be partially un-Eunuched chemically being dosed with testosterone, as far as; ah; a certain function is concerned; but not for the other lost functions.

I have a certain amount of sympathy for the father.

Regardless of what you think of his method, the decision to do what you believe is your duty, regardless of cost, should be applauded. At least in principle.

Shame ol’ Philip didn’t have a gun; but that’s Europe for ya’. Wanna Lose body parts? Visit Europe! The freindly policeman will be sure to clean up after your mutilation, and MIGHT even catch the perpetrators!

Now, don’t think I think ol’ Philip is a great guy or anything; but if Europe is going to have “age of consent” set at around 14 (and in some cases 12!), then what do you think the “Philips” of Europe are going to DO?

I agree. That idiot should have had some basic common sense. I think I might have done the same thing had I been the father.

And of course the daughter is completely without fault…?

  13. ReconsDad says:

    @cleared in hot
I wouldn’t necessarily say that; OTOH, if I’m the dad, my angst at the guy would be less over the fact that he is that much older–although that would elevate my pucker factor–but more over the fact that a man his age is pursuing my teenage daughter without at least coming to me and trying to exercise proper etiquette.

now, if we had someone like him in office … things might get done – hehehe
