The All-Time Vox Day Classic

This had me in stitches.

The quote of the year:

There is only one fundamental rule of sexual attraction. No man can fake an erection. If he’s got one, you’ve still got it. Perhaps not quite as much as you once did, but it’s all you need.

i could respond to your comment, but as i replied to your beautiful wife once on fb … it’s nothing i can share publicly.

“Because no matter whom they meet, no one will ever look at them again through love goggles, which like beer goggles, tend to make a man see a woman through a soft and flattering lens as her mythical and eternally youthful self rather than the harsh, objective light of reality.”

this is so true, and as a woman who grew up in a sex crazed world and environment on the beach where hot women’s bodies were prized and flaunted, it is sincerely difficult for me to comprehend. however, it is definitely true. my husband would say the same thing. and even though we married just three years ago, we still see each other as who we are and what we looked like many year ago. bizarre. i cannot explain it. if you were to ask the younger me if this would ever be true, i would laugh and NEVER believe it. absolutely never. but the 47 year old me, married to my 54 year old husband, totally gets it.

as women, our biggest ‘enemy’ in the ‘fear of my appearance’ department is other women. women compete with other women probably more (i am guessing here based on what i’ve heard and observed b/c i am not a man so cannot say conclusively) than men compare us with other women. does my husband notice a beautiful woman? sure. he’s not blind, and he’s not a fool. but does he *want* her? no. not at all. he’s a one-woman-man, and he always has been.

my husband’s ex has begun complimenting him on things she used to criticize mercilessly. i told him … this is how women work. women love men other women love. if a woman talks well of a man, other women want him. since i talk well of my husband, his ex is now thinking he’s pretty good after all. unfortunately (and i do mean this sincerely b/c i hate divorce) she’s a bit late
