I fully expect the exodus from the PCUSA to continue after this.

No exodus needed. This was already the liberal branch. PCA is the more conservative, split away from the PCUSA over stuff like this a few decades ago. Put OPC are the real champions.
@ProfHale There will still be an exodus. PCUSA allows women to be pastors and deacons. The only way the Redeemer NYC (which is a PCA church) under Tim Keller was able to have female deacons was through special dispensation. NYC is 60% female – fashion industry is big there. I wouldn’t put it past the PCUSA to split over this. Several people left Bel Air Presbyterian (PCUSA) church when the rumblings started and switched to a PCA church in the Los Angeles area.
Hey Saavy. I haven’t heard from you in years. You still single? Just curious.
I was a deacon in the PCA so I know their history well. And not in one of those squishy Northern PCAs either, A good Southern PCA… Until they excommunicated me… Long story.
There are no “special dispensations” in the PCA. The church you described just did it anyway and defied regular church order.
Seriously, I agree with you regarding the PCA. They have their strong suits, but MrsLarijani and I have seen some very bad dysfunctions in some of their ranks.
I had forgotten PCUSA was having their General Assembly this month. They’ve been shrinking anyway, so I expect that will continue. And I’ll have to agree that PCA is far from perfect.
For those who are interested, the Rt. Rev. Foley Beach, bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the South, was elected the next archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America yesterday. I don’t know that much about him, but the ACNA press release quotes outgoing Archbishop Robert Duncan as saying the vote among its College of Bishops was unanimous.

They don’t call them the “split Ps” for nix, ya know?

You’re such a heathen. LOL

That’s what happens when you let people in. Bunch of rotten stinking sinners. Church would be so much better without them in it.
That’s not what I was told when I went there. I am married now. 🙂
Congrats. Are you waiting to change your domain name until you see if it sticks?
