i often read-glance over things and misread them. my first glance over this came out as:
Chinese Researchers Uncover Evidence of Great FOOD!
and … you know … i was thinking … that, perhaps, maybe, they were referring to eating kitties (okay … for those new here, this goes back a looong way, but Amir will get it! 🙂 )
There’s actually a fairly plausible theory that folk memories of a sudden catastrophic rise in the the Black Sea might be behind the Biblical flood story:
I’ve seen that one. I look at it this way: just about every culture in the world has some sort of flood narrative. That tells me there was something catastrophic.
Could that be connected to a rise in the Black Sea? Almost certainly. But the issue is this: if such a flood was much larger in scope–and it probably was–then it was more than just the Black Sea. Then that begs a question: how did that happen?
We may never know the answer to that. The rise of the Black Sea is one component, but almost certainly not the only one.
