11/24/2006: Now that the Russians have showed the world that they give not a crap what anyone in the West thinks–brazenly poisoning Alexander Litvinenko with Polonium 210–they are going about their fundamental business of waging the new World War against the West.
Today, we learn that they are arming Iran.
Any word from Bush or Condi or any of their neocon advisors about this new threat that has been under our radar for at least a decade?
So, enlighten me. What should “Bush or Condi or any of their neocon advisors ” do about this?
Hmmm…
The first thing they can do is recognize the threat. Anyone who thinks that Islammunist terrorism is simply the work of terrorist groups working in a vacuum is missing it big-time. Russia and China are huge players in the terrorist game, and have been arming our enemies for decades. That did not end when the Cold War ended.
When Bush claims to have a good working relationship with Putin and says he believes Putin is “shooting straight”–when in fact he is in bed with Islammunists (and has been for years)–it reflects that he does not know that with whom he is dealing.
The second thing they can do is–once they recognize the threat–pull a page out of the Reagan playbook and call the Russians on it. Reagan did this to the old Soviets for the better part of 8 years while building our defenses and unleashing our economic engine in ways that brought the Soviets down.
Bush has made the mistake of assuming that Putin–who got where he is by being the coy KGB man he is–is an honest man. In fact, there are people in this world who will look you in the eye and seem so honest and genuine and in fact they are snakes of the worst order.
